Church on the Move; Where are We Supposed to be?

Church on the Move: Where are We Supposed to Be? April 15th - May 27th

Church on the Move- Sermon series

"...if their purpose is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these people..." Acts 5:38a-39b

"When Jesus was on earth, He painted a radical vision for His followers.  He called it 'the Kingdom of God.'  His kingdom is a heavenly reality that lands smack in the middle of everyday life."  -Rick McKinley, This Beautiful Mess

There are too many churches sitting comfortable in their buildings not making a difference in the world.  We want to change that.

Our worship theme this spring, "Church on the Move," focuses on God's call to "go," and how the church is not a building but a people - a people God has called to be on mission and on the move with Him.

In Isaiah 6, God says, "Whom shall I send?  Who will go for us?"  Jesus' last words in the gospel of Matthew are, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations."  In fact, all throughout the Bible and church history, Christians have been on the move, making a difference and taking the gospel story to many places.  First Baptist Church wants to know:  How can we be active, present, and on the move here in Topeka where God has placed us?  How can we move more towards "going," instead of just "inviting?"  How can we help bring in the kingdom of God?

God Bless,
