Corey Fields, Associate Pastor
Corey Fields joined the First Baptist staff in August of 2006. He is a native of Virginia, where he used to be able to drive 2 hours to get to the beach, but hasn't found an ocean nearby here in Kansas. Corey went to college at James Madison University, studying Speech Communication and minoring in Music Industry. He then went to Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond where he received his Master of Divinity. He and his wife Dayna have been married since April 2003, and are the proud parents of two children (a son born in October 2007 and a daughter born in April 2010). On those rare occassions of having free time, Corey likes to read, play sports, watch baseball, camp, and go to the beach (which now requires a plane ticket). Although Corey functions as a pastor for the whole congregation, his ministry has a special focus in the areas of young adult ministry, outreach, and alternative worship. Corey has a heart for those who have become disillusioned with the church. He says that one of the most fulfilling things for him is being able to give people a safe and non-threatening place to explore God, life, and the Bible - especially in today's world where people are bombarded with slogans, marketing, and spiritual messages all vying for our attention.
